Education & Conferencing

St Catherine’s Hospice is a specialist provider of high quality training and education in End of Life and Palliative Care. We provide regular updates for our own staff, other health care professionals, carers, patients and the general public.

We work with a wide range of providers, other Hospices and the education sector to raise the quality and awareness of End of Life Care wherever we can. Currently, we are working with Greater Preston and Chorley and South Ribble Clinical Commissioning Groups to deliver an extensive training programme  in end of life care to primary care professionals, we are also working with Preston’s College to deliver Health and Social Care qualifications that specialise in an end of life care and on a regular basis we deliver sessions for social services, nursing and care homes and domiciliary care agencies.

We also work closely with UCLan and the University of Manchester Medical School to offer placement opportunities to trainee nurses and doctors.

St Catherine’s Hospice has a comprehensive range of training opportunities on both clinical and non-clinical subjects. This includes study days, placement opportunities and conferences.

St Catherine’s also has three conference rooms available to hire for meetings and events, as well as a further room nearby at The Mill – a new café and community hub nearby within St Catherine’s Park.

We can cater for a variety of different sized events – from business meetings and study seminars to craft sessions and yoga classes. We also benefit from a professional catering team who can provide high quality refreshments whatever the occasion.
