Senior Clinical Educator (Department Lead)

As the new Senior Clinical Educator (Department Lead) at St Catherine’s Hospice, you will lead the team to plan, organise and deliver clinical and non clinical education both internally and externally.
Salary: £48,621 per annum
Contract: Permanent, full time (37.5 hours) including up to 0.2 FTE clinical time
Location: St Catherine’s Hospice, Lostock Hall Preston

About the hospice
St Catherine’s cares for patients and families across Chorley, Preston and South Ribble who are affected by life-shortening conditions such as cancer, motor neurone disease and heart failure. Their specialised palliative and end of life care allows people to experience the best possible quality of life, to the end of life. They work with patients and their loved ones at the hospice and in their own homes to help them achieve what’s important to them in the time they have.

About the role
With highly specialised clinical skills and experience, you will provide leadership to our education team and deliver specialist clinical programmes to clinicians at all levels, and across a range of organisations and teams.
You will build strong links with external education providers in order to broaden our education offer and seek to expand our income generating activities by identifying opportunities for education and partnerships.
Working in collaboration with colleagues across the Hospice, you will ensure our clinical workforce is equipped with the necessary skills to provide safe and effective care to our patients and our wider workforce have the opportunity to grow and reach their potential.
About you
This is a senior educator role with leadership and management responsibilities; you’ll need to be an experienced clinician (experienced band 6 or band 7 or equivalent with palliative care experience) with a management style that leads and inspires a team with an excellent reputation to continue to provide high quality education and be creative to meet needs both internally and externally.
As an excellent communicator, you will have the skills and experience to deliver high quality education and forge new relationships and partnerships externally.
