A gift for a gift: support hospice’s anniversary appeal this Christmas

A bespoke merchandise range has been produced to celebrate the 30th anniversary of St Catherine’s Hospice – offering supporters the chance to give two gifts wrapped in one this Christmas!

The Siena Range is an exclusive selection of gift ware featuring items including a souvenir mug, a stylish golf umbrella and a practical canvas shopper – brilliant for beating the recently introduced 5p carrier bag charge.

The hospice’s target in the 30th anniversary Give A Gift campaign – run in conjunction with the Lancashire Evening Post and the Chorley and Leyland Guardian – is to sell 300 pieces of merchandise this year.

Rachel Hewitt, Head of Trading at St Catherine’s Hospice, said: “We are extremely proud of our Siena Range which offers supporters the chance to take a little piece of St Catherine’s home with them. Produced as part of our wonderful 30th anniversary celebrations, they are also a lovely keepsake of our important milestone year.

“Along with staple items like our pen and butterfly pin badge, the new collection features some gorgeous items which would make great presents for loved ones this Christmas. The best bit about them is that they’re actually two gifts in one – because when you buy something from the range you’re helping to raise vital funds to support the specialised care of St Catherine’s.”

The Siena Range has been designed with creative input from talented illustrator Rachelle Panagarry.

Rachelle’s father John Dodd was cared for at St Catherine’s in 2013 and since then she has been involved with the work of the hospice in several different ways – including organising two Valentine’s balls to raise funds and giving her time and skills to help create the gift range. The design features the butterfly symbol of the hospice, The Mill wheel and the wildlife of St Catherine’s Park.

The Siena Range is on sale here and from the gift shops within the hospice reception and at The Mill café, which also currently stock a full range of Christmas cards, a 2016 calendar and 2016 pocket diaries.

Rachel added: “Before we know it Christmas will be here!

“Along with the Siena Range and our Christmas cards, our gift shops are stocked up with some gorgeous festive goodies which we hope provide some inspiration for your home and gifts this year.

“As a local charity which depends on the generosity of our local community, supporting St Catherine’s by purchasing packet of Christmas cards or a festive gift will help us continue caring for local people this Christmas and beyond.”
