A Piece of Cake!

Alex Moran and Lucy Hargreaves, both aged 11, have been baking to raise funds for St Catherine’s Hospice.
Alex, who is the Junior Face of Preston, wanted to do something special to help St Catherine’s. Her granddad Ernest passed away at the Hospice and her grandma Joan supervised the girls as they baked all manner of goodies: cup cakes, chocolate cakes, lemon drizzle, muffins, flapjacks, marzipan, gingerbread men and a huge Victoria Sandwich. They worked into the night and only finished at 3.00am.Next morning their friend Sam Bond joined them for the sale. They sold out in no time and raised £36 for the Hospice.Alex said; “We really enjoyed it, but I never want to see a cake mix again!”Thank you for all your hard work!Pictured: Lucy, Alex and Sam.
