Action packed year of fundraising ends with incredible donation!
Staff from a Preston-based housing association spent 12 months running, swimming, baking, hiking, and cycling to support St Catherine’s, raising nearly £9,000 for their efforts!
The epic year of fundraising – which generated the most the team has ever raised during a chosen charity year – even included a sponsored skydive.
The proceeds were presented to senior fundraiser Norman Cutler at a celebration event which also welcome the Mayor of Preston Coun Brian Rollo.
Rob Wakefield, CEO of Community Gateway Association, said: “Many of CGA’s colleagues are actively involved with the staff charity and it’s only through their continued commitment and generosity over the last 12 months, that we have managed to raise such a fantastic amount, for such a worthy cause. A big thank you to everyone involved.”
Each year CGA staff vote on a charity to become their corporate charity of the year and carry out a variety of activities to raise funds for their chosen charity.
Norman Cutler, senior fundraiser at St Catherine’s, said: “We are very pleased and privileged to have such a large sum of money donated to us.
“The donation helps us to deliver specialist care to our patients and provide support for their families. Thank you to all of the staff who have helped to fundraise this fantastic amount in all sorts of wonderful ways, supporting our work helping local people to have quality of life until the end of life.”
