Annual Sportsman’s Dinner held in aid of St Catherine’s Hospice
Over 100 supporters attended the 36th annual Sportsman’s Dinner at Preston Grasshoppers Rugby Football Club in October in aid of the hospice.
The dinner included a sit-down meal, entertainment including a raffle and ‘guess the football scores’ and two guest speakers – ex-footballer Steve Daley and comedian John Stiles.
Event organiser, Frank Turley, said: “The event was brilliant, the three-course meal provided by Preston Grasshoppers was very good and there was a great response to the raffle and games that we played – everyone got involved.
“The theme of the night was to raise money and to have a good time – overall we raised £3,300 for St Catherine’s Hospice.”
Support was offered by local businesses which supplied sponsorship or raffle prizes;
- Loud and Clear Graphics
- Sleeve It
- Soccer Manager
- Preston North End
- Hellewells Menswear
- GM Energy Supply
- Marks & Spencer
- S.P Bathrooms and Interiors
St Catherine’s fundraiser, Emma Jacovelli, said: “We’re extremely grateful to Frank and everyone involved in the Sportsman’s Dinner.
“The money they have raised means we are able to continue providing much-needed end-of-life care and support to local people when it matters most.”
