Art group thinks up creative ways to support St Catherine’s
The Chorley Lodge Artists Society has chosen St Catherine’s Hospice as the charity to receive funds raised through a prize draw at their Summer Exhibition, held in The Farmhouse Gallery in Astley Park throughout July.
Visitors to the exhibition were invited to buy tickets and a draw was made for the prize of an original painting donated by artist Leanne Ellis, following a demonstration she did at the club.
Members support the hospice in other ways too – some of their wonderful paintings are copied and made into cards for sale in the hospice’s reception gift shop, and book shops in Chorley and Ashton.
The society also holds ‘bring and buy’ sales of art equipment, and organises raffles of special works at exhibitions, to help raise further funds.
Pictured is member Pam Williams, who also volunteers on reception, with some of the cards for sale in the gift shop.
Lodge members are now busy preparing work for their annual exhibition in Astley Hall in November.
