Be inspired to stick to your New Year’s resolutions with one of our fitness-themed fundraisers!
New Year, New You?
If you’ve vowed to get in shape in 2013, why not support a good cause at the same time?
St Catherine’s Hospice has a host of fitness-themed fundraisers for you to take part in – from walking to running to cycling, there’s something for everyone!
For cycling enthusiasts we have two new charity bike rides, both taking place in May. The longer route takes a 75km course through the Fylde and Wyre Valley, while a shorter, more ‘family friendly’ option loops around the 34km Preston Guildwheel.
There is also our annual Moonlight and Memories Walk through Preston on June 1..
Following the fabulous success of this last year’s walk – which welcomed men for the first time – it’s hoped the 2013 event will be a real family affair.
Walkers of all ages are invited along to take on either an 8 or 13.1 mile route in support of St Catherine’s and in memory or celebration of a loved one.
The event, which has new start time of 10pm, will also feature a Memory Wall – where participants can post pictures, words or poems in tribute to relatives and friends.
St Catherine’s Hospice also has places available in the the 10km Bupa Great Manchester Run in May and the 13.1 mile Great North Run in September.
The fundraising team can provide advice on training, a high performance running vest, fundraising tips and sponsorship forms.
