Car parks re-opened at St Catherine’s following floods
We’re happy to say that our car parks and driveway have re-opened following the Boxing Day floods and that visitors to St Catherine’s and The Mill can now access via the driveway from Lostock Lane as usual.
Stephen Greenhalgh, Chief Executive of St Catherine’s Hospice, said: “Fortunately the main hospice building, including our in-patient unit, was unaffected by the flooding and our important work was able to carry on as usual. Our thoughts are with those families who were not so lucky and whose homes have been flooded.
“We would like to say a big thank you to all visitors for their co-operation whilst the car parks were out of action and to all those who responded to our calls to action on social media and helped to spread the word about the situation.
“Huge thanks go too to our dedicated staff and volunteers who pulled out all the stops over the holiday season to ensure that the service for our patients and their families was unaffected, to all those who are helping to clean up the car parks and pathways to ensure they were safe for visitors, and to our engineer Greg Watson who gave his time to come and assess the situation.”
