Catering colleagues set to take on Colour Run!
By Jade Taylorson
Two colleagues from the catering world are getting their running shoes ready for a colourful fundraising challenge in aid of St Catherine’s Hospice!
Stacie Domanski and Rachael Geldeard are looking forward to getting doused from top to toe in colour whilst taking part in the Manchester 5k Colour Run on July 5.
The women, who will begin the run around the Ethiad Stadium wearing pristine white, work together at Chef Jobs UK, supplying chefs to work both in the hospice and nearby café – The Mill.
Stacie said: “We feel that we want to support not just one of our clients, but a great cause too.
“St Catherine’s Hospice does some truly great work and not only supports its patients but also their families.”
The Colour Run is a five-kilometre, un-timed race in which thousands of participants are doused from head to toe in different coloured powder at each kilometre. In January 2013, more than 1.5m runners took part in the Colour Run, with a growing number of 2m in 2014.
Stacie added: “We chose to do the Colour Run as it is described by the organisers as the ‘single largest event series on the planet’ and the ‘craziest, most colourful 5K of your life’. It sounds like great fun!
“I am definitely not an avid runner so for me, this will be a real challenge! Rachael, on the other hand, is partial to the occasional 5K.
“When we arrive at the finish line, we will be a little tired and plastered, from head to toe, in colour!”
