Construction firm’s family fun day in aid of St Catherine’s

The charity group for John Turner Construction Group had a ball at their charity fun day in aid of St Catherine’s earlier in the summer.

Turners Local Charity (TLC) is an employee led group for the Preston based firm and have been committed to supporting various local charities since its formation three years ago.

This year, TLC has been supporting St Catherine’s on the recommendation of its employees and held a fun day for all staff at the company’s head office in Grimsargh.

The turn-out was even better than expected with a BBQ, raffle, cake stall, bouncy castle and a magician all on offer, with the event raising £1,500 on the day alone for the hospice.

Sharon Stephenson-Baird, Business Development and Marketing Co-ordinator for the company told St Catherine’s that the event not only raised money for the hospice but it was a really enjoyable day, and the weather was kind to us. St Catherine’s is close to a lot of people’s hearts and it was the charity put forward by our employees.

Karen Mansfield, HR Manager commented that the afternoon was a great way to bring the staff and their families together … it was great for our employees to have some fun in an informal setting.

St Catherine’s Hospice would like to thank John Turner Construction for their fundraising efforts, and for choosing us as a charity to support.
