Couple held Irish Night in aid of St Catherine’s Hospice
A popular Irish Night raised a fantastic £810 for St Catherine’s Hospice.
Couple Allan and Maureen Gaskell held their fourth Irish Night at St Bernard’s function room in Ashton this April. Allan and Maureen started supporting the charity by donating furniture to the hospice after Allan’s mum sadly died in 2000. Since then, they have organised a number of Irish Nights – with proceeds going to the hospice.
Maureen said: “The work that the hospice does is so important, the staff are so friendly – Allans mum was given the best of care at the hospice. The Irish Nights are a pleasure to organise – we always receive continued support from the hospice.”
The night featured a performance from Irish band “Dalriada”, an Irish dancing performance from The Siobhan Joyce Irish dancers who gave us a fabulous display, a buffet and also a raffle. A number of raffle prizes were donated right up until the draw. Some of the prizes included PNE tickets and a £100 voucher for a photo shoot.
Maureen said: “The night was brilliant, the atmosphere and crowd were better than we expected and the room was full – we will be arranging another Irish night next year.”
