Couple put best foot forward for St Catherine’s
A couple completed a famous long distance walking route through Scotland to raise money for St Catherine’s Hospice.
Sue and Derek Curzon walked the 96-mile West Highland Way fromMilngavie on the outskirts of Glasgow to Fort William.
They completed the challenge in just seven days, braving wet conditions as they went, and raised a brilliant £900 for the hospice.
Derek who is originally from Dundee but has lived in Preston for the last 12 years said: “We wanted to do the walk as I’d heard about it over 20 years ago.
“We absolutely loved it, the views were just glorious and there was hardly anybody about.”
The couple wanted to combine their love for the outdoors and walking with supporting a worthy cause.
Derek added: “Both our parents have been affected by cancer, so we wanted to support the work that St Catherine’s carry out as they are a local and well known charity that we wish to continue helping.”
Derek and Sue are already planning a second walk as they enjoyed the challenge so much.
