DanceTalent Studio raises money for St Catherine’s Hospice
Students at a Leyland dance school have been taking their performances to the next level in aid of St Catherine’s Hospice.
DanceTalent Studio which is owned by Sue Vincent and Annie Fitton, provides classes for all ages in many different areas of dance, such as ballet, tap, modern jazz, street, Zumba and Irish tap.
The dance school started supporting the hospice in 2012, when staff donated all the profits from their first show to the charity. As Sue’s original business partner, Christine Clarkson, was admitted to the hospice following her diagnosis of cancer.
Sue said: “Productions take over a year to put together and involve 154 students performing. The performances take place at King George’s Hall in Blackburn, as Miss Christine loved that theatre and had her dance school perform there many times.”
St Catherine’s fundraiser, Emma Jacovelli, said: “We’re extremely grateful to DanceTalent Studio for continuing to support the hospice and donating £4,835. The donation means the hospice can continue to provide care to local people when it matters most.
“The dance school performed at our Yellow Day event in July 2015 and will also be putting on a performance at our Christmas Festival this year on the 3rd and 4th of December.”
