Double scoop for hospice following 65th birthday bash
Architect Mike Parker celebrated his 65th birthday at Brindle Village Hall and raised much-needed funds for St Catherine’s Hospice.
Not only did Mike, from Withnell Fold, use the charity’s catering service, The Mill Outside to cater for his party, but he also made a donation to the charity in lieu of receiving presents.
Mike said: “I’ve visited the Mill café on numerous occasions, but I’d initially seen The Mill Outside at Lancashire Show last year – the food and service was excellent.
“I’m always keen to support the hospice, and thought what better way to do so than having The Mill Outside provide the catering.”
St Catherine’s Hospice fundraising officer, Hayley Jackson, said: “We’d like to say thank you to Mike for the continuous support. Not only has Mike made a very generous donation to the hospice of £290 in lieu of presents, but he has also supported the charity by choosing The Mill Outside to cater for his birthday.
“The Mill Outside is available to hire for a variety of occasions, including; weddings, balls, corporate events and more. All profits raised through The Mill Outside go back to supporting the specialised care provided by the hospice.”
Over 60 people enjoyed a delicious Lancashire hot pot and butter pie.
