St Catherine's Hospice > Dress to impress at our prestigious Ascot Ladies’ Day

Dress to impress at our prestigious Ascot Ladies’ Day

Ascot Ladies' Day (1)It is set to be a win-win occasion for Ascot fans and St Catherine’s Hospice, as the charity welcomes women to bag a bargain at its high-end Preston pre-loved shop and dress to impress at its annual Ladies’ Day.

Following the success of last year’s event, the St Catherine’s Ascot Ladies’ Day – which also welcomes men – will once again be held in the hospice’s spectacular summer marquee in the beautiful grounds of St Catherine’s Park, Lostock Hall, on Thursday, June 16th.

The afternoon will feature a delicious lunch by The Mill Outside – the outside catering firm linked to the charity’s successful café – entertainment by vintage singer Daniella Gallagher, stalls selling fashion, gift and beauty items, the racing live on screen and the chance to have a flutter on the horses courtesy of BetSid.

And guests looking for something to wear for the occasion are being encouraged to see what’s on offer at the charity’s Lune Street clothes shop, which specialises in formal wear, boasting a range of hats, dresses and suits.

Rachel Hewitt, head of trading at St Catherine’s, said: “Our Preston store is a great place to find beautiful items for our Ascot event, as it specialises in fancy gowns, cocktail dresses, and smart suits.

“The shop also offers hat and fascinator hire, which is perfect for the racing season, and there are lots of gorgeous accessories to help jazz up any outfit. We’re looking forward to seeing people dressed in their finery!

“I’d really urge people to come along and see for themselves what a treasure trove it is, because not only will they be helping to raise charity funds by attending the Ascot event, they’ll also be supporting the hospice’s work by shopping with us – whilst bagging a bargain themselves in the process. It’s a win-win situation – regardless of where the horses come on the day!”

Ascot singer Daniella GallagherSinger Daniella Gallagher, who also performed at last summer’s prestigious event, added: “It was a brilliant day last year and everyone had a fantastic time. What a lovely way to spend an afternoon!

“We all had a huge amount of fun with the betting and the food was amazing too – it was just a really enjoyable and relaxing afternoon.

“Everyone made an effort but it wasn’t at all uptight – it felt like we could have actually been at Ascot ourselves!”

Hospice fundraiser Lynne Whittaker said: “As well as being a great day out for friends and racing lovers, we’re also urging local businesses to take the opportunity to treat their staff to an afternoon out of the office, or use our Ascot Day as a chance to wine and dine clients.”

Tickets for the Ladies’ Ascot Day, which starts at 12.30pm, cost £25 and can be booked here, or by calling 01772 629171.
