Duo go under the ink to support St Catherine’s!
Two brave supporters, including former X-Factor contestant Jonjo Kerr, were all of a flutter when they had the St Catherine’s Hospice butterfly tattooed on their bodies to raise money for the charity!
Not only is the tattoo a lasting tribute to St Catherine’s, Jonjo and Helen Proctor also raised around £400 in sponsorship from their stunt to support the care of the hospice.
They had the tattoos at Bill’s Tattoo Parlour in Chorley, ahead of a charity entertainment night at Bamber Bridge Catholic Club where Jonjo performed.
The charity night was organised by Helen’s brother Andy in memory of close friend Dawn Morley who was cared for by St Catherine’s Hospice before her sad death in April.
In total the event put together with the tattoo sponsorship, raised around £2,400 – an amazing boost for St Catherine’s and the services it provides.
Helen, who had the butterfly tattooed on her shoulder while Jonjo had it on his ribs, said: “I’ve had a tattoo before and this one didn’t hurt anywhere near as much – he was very gentle!
“I’m really pleased with it – it looks great and we’ve raised some funds for a great cause. My grandma was looked after at St Catherine’s – we’ve done other fundraising events for the hospice in the past, but this is certainly the one which will stick with me the longest!”
Emma Jacovelli, fundraiser at St Catherine’s Hospice, said: “We’re very touched that Jonjo and Helen were happy to make such a big commitment to the hospice by having a tattoo of our well-known butterfly emblem.
“We think they look fantastic and are very grateful for the funds raised thanks to this and the brilliant charity night that Andy organised. We’d like to say a big thank you everyone involved.”
