DWF dig in to show their support!
Staff from a Preston law firm swapped their desks for the outdoors when they took part in a national initiative promoting the power and potential of employee volunteering.
The colleagues from DWF spent the day at St Catherine’s Hospice as part Give and Gain Day.
They helped out with maintenance jobs in the charity’s gorgeous grounds, where tasks included weeding, pruning, sanding and painting.
The firm has supported the hospice in this way on many occasions, and the latest visitcame at the same time as the company confirmed St Catherine’s Hospice had been picked as their Charity of the Year for the fourth consecutive year.
Paralegal Matt Canfield said: “This is the first time I have been to St Catherine’s and the grounds are just amazing!
“It’s great to be outdoors and helping to look after them for the benefit of people using and visiting the hospice.”
Colleague Josh Sheridan added: “Although DWF is a large legal firm, each office is always very keen to support and be involved with their local community. St Catherine’s is close to their hearts of many people in our office and we’re only too happy to help.”
Lynne Whittaker, senior fundraiser at St Catherine’s Hospice, thanked DWF for their continued support and added: “It is always a pleasure to welcome them to the hospice and we’re very grateful for the work they helped us with as part of Give and Gain Day.
“We’re really looking forward to working with the firm further over the next 12 months, and are very grateful to have been selected as their chosen charity once again.”
