Freemasons’ Christmas visit to deliver latest donation
Representatives from the Leyland and District Freemasons visited St Catherine’s Hospice to deliver a cheque for more than £3,700 this Christmas.
Chairman Stewart Seddon and Assistant Provincial Grand Master Ray Martland, met with hospice staff before handing over the donation of £3,742.
The generous sum came from the Freemasons’ Grand Charity, the national charity of the organisation which distributes cash to good causes around the country each year.
This latest donation comes on the back of consistent support from the local lodges across Leyland and the surrounding area, who regularly fundraise on behalf St Catherine’s.
Funds are raised within the lodges via donations and other attractions such as raffles, with the proceeds handed over each June on their ‘Annual Giving Day’.
Mr Seddon said: “We want to help do our bit to support a good local cause, which helps people when they are really in need.
“It’s always a pleasure to visit St Catherine’s and we’re delighted to deliver this latest donation.”
