Fundraising concert hits high note for St Catherine’s
A music school with students aged from six to 60 organised a summer concert which raised £275 for St Catherine’s.
Rimmers Music Leyland organised the event at Farington Social Club in June.
Guests were treated to performances from singers, drummers, guitarists and pianists, playing a variety of different musical pieces.
The funds were raised through ticket sales and a raffle on the day.
The popular shop and music school organises a fundraising concert each Christmas in aid of Cancer Research, and decided to add a summer performance to raise funds for a local charity too.
Neil Walsh, store manager, said: “We were keen to do something to support a charity doing important work in our local community and St Catherine’s was the obvious choice.
“It was a fantastic afternoon which our pupils and their guests really enjoyed. We are looking forward to hosting another next summer, when we hope even more funds will be raised for St Catherine’s.”
