Jennifer finds her perfect wedding dress at the St Catherine’s Bridal Boutique

A newlywed has praised her wonderful experience of the St Catherine’s Bridal Boutique after falling in love with not one, but TWO wedding dresses at the shop!

Jennifer Allan originally found a dress at the charity’s shop in Lune Street, Preston, around a year before the big day.

When she went back a few months later to look for bridesmaid dresses, she spotted another perfect gown and took that home too!

She explained: “I had lost a lot of weight by the time I went looking for bridesmaid dresses, and I fell in love with another wedding dress which fit me better and didn’t need any alterations – I knew it had to be the one!

“I’ve never felt more welcome in a shop; it just blew me away and there’s such a wide choice. I heard about it from someone at work and expected there to just be a handful of dresses, but there were loads and they were all really great quality.”

Jennifer, a pawnbroker, married mechanic Lorenzo Aitkenhead at Preston Registration Office followed by a reception at Ashton and Lea Golf Club on May 4. The couple, from Preston, honeymooned in Palma, Spain.

She added: “My husband and I have both known people who have been cared for by St Catherine’s Hospice, and it’s a charity we’re more than happy to help as they do so much for so many people.

“It felt wonderful knowing that we were giving to a charity, where the money would be used to make a difference in people’s lives.

“I still have both dresses – the original one was £125 and the one I wore on the day was £175. I’m going to get them cleaned and donate them back to the shop so that they can help St Catherine’s even more.”

The hospice’s Bridal Boutique is located downstairs at the Lune Street shop in Preston city centre, and is open 10am-4pm, Monday-Saturday. As well as a great range of wedding dresses, the store also sells pre-loved mother-of-the-bride outfits, bridesmaid and flower girl dresses, and suits for groom, ushers, and page boys. Accessories such as shoes, veils, hats and fascinators are also available, and there is a variety of brand new stock such as jewellery, tiaras, guest books, wedding invitations and more.

For more information, you can call the shop on 01772 378481.
