St Catherine's Hospice > JTF makes Christmas Magical for Day Therapy patients

JTF makes Christmas Magical for Day Therapy patients

JTF Mega Discount Warehouse has donated a 6ft Nordmann Fir Christmas tree, all of the decorations and a Christmas gift hamper to St Catherine’s Hospice.

Members of JTF Mega Discount Warehouse in Preston were asked to nominate a local charity they thought would like to see receive a 6ft Nordmann Fir Christmas Tree, Christmas decorations and a gift hamper.

St Catherine’s Hospice received the majority of the nominations with some extremely heartfelt comments from families who have received support from the charity.

The Christmas tree was decorated by the day therapy patients and nurses of St Catherine’s Hospice and has been placed as a centrepiece within the day therapy lounge.

JTF Warehouse will continue to support St Catherine’s Hospice throughout the year. Liam Gill – JTF Mega Discount Warehouse Retail Director said: “St Catherine’s Hospice is an extremely worthy charity to receive this donation and we are pleased to offer a real Christmas tree, all of the decorations and a gift hamper to them.

“It is very clear that the hospice’s work is appreciated by the local community due to all of the support for them through the nominations made by Preston’s JTF Warehouse members. We wish all of the St Catherine’s Hospice staff, volunteers and patients a very merry Christmas”.

A JTF member who nominated St Catherine’s added: “They provide amazing care; some years ago my mum was at St Catherine’s for a couple of days before she passed away. The care she received when she was there was brilliant. The hospice kept us well informed of what to expect during her final days which made things a little easier”.

Julie Davidson, Day Therapy Sister at St Catherine’s Hospice, expressed her gratitude for the wonderful donation stating: “We’d like to say a big thank you to JTF for this fantastic Christmas tree and to all their wonderful staff for nominating St Catherine’s to receive these fantastic gifts.

“The tree looks lovely in our day therapy lounge where patients, staff and volunteers can enjoy it over the festive season, and the hamper of treats will go down well at our Christmas parties in the week before Christmas.”
