Local Family hold their annual fishing match in aid of the hospice
A family from Coppull held their 19th annual fishing match at Heskin Old Farm Fisheries last month to support St Catherine’s Hospice.
The Whittaker family host their annual fishing match for family and friends every August, in memory of their brother, Graham Whittaker.
Graham stayed in St Catherine’s Hospice in 1997 following his diagnosis of Asbestosis.
Graham’s brother Michael said: “We hold the fishing match around Graham’s birthday on the 23rd of August every year.”
“It’s a special occasion to remember him each year, especially as Graham’s ashes were scattered at Heskin Old Farm Fisheries.”
St Catherine’s senior fundraiser, Lynne Whittaker, said: “We’re extremely grateful to the Whittaker family for continuing to support the hospice. Their donation means that we can continue to provide much needed care for local people, when it matters most.”
Michael and Linda made a donation of £260 to the hospice.
