Mayor’s Ice Bucket Charity Challenge!

The Mayor and Mayoress of Preston braved buckets of freezing water to take on the Ice Bucket Challenge for three good causes.

Coun Nick Pomfret and wife Barbara took up the challenge and made donations to the Motor Neurone Disease Association, Macmillan Cancer Support and St Catherine’s Hospice. Click here to watch the video of the Mayor’s Challenge!

As the hospice is Mayor Pomfret’s chosen charity during his term of office, he is now asking anyone who likes his video to make a donation to St Catherine’s.

He said: “The success of the Ice Bucket Challenge campaign has been phenomenal, and it has been amazing to see it raise so many vital funds and awareness for two very important causes.

“I also wanted to donate to St Catherine’s which does such vital work here in the local community in Preston. I hope people have a bit of a laugh watching my video and if they do, that they might be inspired to make a donation to the hospice to help it continue providing its specialised care.”
