Nick hosts music night in honour of his mum
A musician is bringing together a group of talented performers for a fundraiser in aid of the charity which cared for his beloved mum.
Nick Spencer, from Walton Park, is arranging a musical evening at Bamber Bridge Football Club from 7.30pm on March 16, to raise funds for St Catherine’s Hospice.
Singers on the night include local Ed Sheeran tribute act Connor Banks, Rachael Wareing, Ruth Naylor, The Bedroom DJs, and Nick Spencer with John Paterson.
Nick said: “My mum Gabrielle Spencer was cared for at St Catherine’s in November 2016, after being diagnosed with terminal liver and bowel cancer. The care she received was absolutely outstanding and the whole family was offered support as well. We still access the services of the hospice’s Family Support Team, which has been a huge help and comfort.
“It’s been just over a year and I just felt that I wanted to do something really positive to show my support and raise awareness of St Catherine’s. It’s my mum’s birthday in March so it seemed like a good time to plan something. It’s also close to St Patrick’s Day so we’ll be performing some really upbeat, traditional Irish music along with pop, acoustic, and other styles.
“There will be a real mix of music and something for everyone to enjoy. I’m really looking forward to it and hope it’s well supported so that we can raise as much as possible for the hospice.”
Tickets are £8 including a pie and peas supper. Tickets are available in advance from the football club or by calling Nick on 07805 042722.
