Penwortham golfers make donation to St Catherine’s Hospice
A group of golfers from Penwortham Golf Club made a donation to the hospice following birthday celebrations.
From a police officer to a chartered surveyor, Jim Noblett and his friends have a range of different backgrounds but all share a common interest in golf.
Mike Stones, Mike Doyle, Tony Jackson and John Wilson, along with Jim are long standing members of Penwortham Golf Club. Recently they all celebrated their 70th birthdays at the club – where they asked guests not to bring presents or cards, but to make a donation to the hospice if they wish.
Jim said: “The night was a great success, with 122 of our friends and family enthusiastically joining us in the celebration.
“Amongst the group we have had family members and friends who have benefited from the wonderful services and support offered by St Catherine’s. There was no hesitation in selecting the hospice to receive the donation.”
St Catherine’s fundraiser, Hayley Jackson, said: “We’re extremely grateful to Jim and his friends for making the generous donation of £675 to the hospice. With their support we can continue providing care and support to local people when it matters most.”
