Preston Motor Sports Club makes a donation to St Catherine’s
A team of keen motor enthusiasts took on a set of fundraising events for St Catherine’s Hospice.
A group of six members from Preston Motor Sports Club have completed a Total Warrior challenge along with an Autosolo event in a bid to raise funds for the charity.
The club has been running for over two and a half years and has over 100 members – all of whom were very keen to support the fundraising.
Grant Smith, a member of the club, said: “All the club members are local, we chose to support St Catherine’s because everyone in some way has been affected or had a connection with the hospice.
“The Total Warrior was a challenge for everyone involved, we didn’t undertake any training beforehand – but managed to complete the course in around two hours. Overall the day was dry and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.”
Emma Jacovelli, head of community engagement at St Catherine’s Hospice, said: “The support we’ve received from Grant and all his team has been incredible, we’re extremely grateful for the fantastic donation of £2,088.40.
“Without the support from people like Grant and the members from Preston Motor Sports Club in the community, we couldn’t continue providing our specialist palliative and end-of-life care to local people, when it matters most.”
