Pupils run 27 marathons for hospice and Sport Relief
Pupils and staff from Cop Lane CE Primary School in Penwortham put their best foot forward to support St Catherine’s and Sport Relief.
The energetic youngsters and enthusiastic teachers ran laps around the school playground to see how many marathons they could complete between them.
Collecting sponsorship money for their efforts, the school managed to achieve an impressive 27.4 marathons and raise hundreds of pounds, with donations still coming in.
A group of 14 teachers used the exercise to train for another challenge too, as they prepare to take part in the Great Manchester 10k run in May to raise further funds for the hospice.
The school has chosen us as their nominated charity for the year after Richard Clark, the father of Year 1 pupil Sidney and Year 2 pupil Oscar, was cared for here last year.
