QED hands over proceeds from successful year of fundraising
A security distribution firm which has been busy fundraising for St Catherine’s throughout the charity’s 30th year has handed over £1,343 to the hospice as 2015 draws to a close.
QED, based at Bamber Bridge, raised the money in various ways throughout the year, after being inspired to show their support by the hospice’s milestone birthday.
A team of seven staff members took part in the Great Manchester 10km run in May, followed by the Total Warrior extreme obstacle course in August.
In between they organised a weekly tuck box which raised funds as well as several breakfast and buffet days in the office.
In total they raised a brilliant £1,343 which will be used to support the specialised care of St Catherine’s.
Matt Philip, product development director at QED, said: “Everyone has really enjoyed our year of fundraising for St Catherine’s, in particular the 10km and Total Warrior challenges.
“We ended up coming last in the obstacle course but it didn’t matter – we were all in it together and we had a great laugh. It’s nice to do things together as a team and it’s really good for morale.
“We’re very pleased to have raised this money for St Catherine’s, a place which does such vital work in our community. We’re proud to have helped contribute to what sounds like has been a fantastic 30th anniversary year.”
