Santander staff host quiz night at The Mill to raise funds for St Catherine’s

Bank staff put their general knowledge to the test and tucked in to a delicious hotpot to raise funds for St Catherine’s Hospice.

Colleagues from Santander’s Lancashire Business team selected The Mill café in the grounds of St Catherine’s Park to hold a Christmas quiz fundraiser.

Proceeds from events held at The Mill go towards funding the specialist end-of-life care provided by the charity, and a raffle held on the night generated further funds.

Kelly Catterall, Business Relationship Director, said: “This was a very enjoyable evening bringing together our Professional Connections in support of St Catherine’s Hospice, which is a well-respected local charity doing amazing work for patients and their families. We managed to raise around £1,000 through donations and a raffle and the bank’s match-funding scheme to support charities. Thank you to The Mill staff and volunteers for being excellent hosts!’’

Mark Bickley, Assistant Manager for events and outside catering at The Mill, said: “We really enjoyed hosting Santander’s quiz night, which raised money for St Catherine’s in a number of ways. Guests tucked into our famous hotpot, there was a charity raffle, and the bank were able to match-fund the money raised on the night. Thank you to everyone involved!”

He added: “The Mill is an ideal venue for corporate events; as well as the café, which is available to hire from 5pm every day, we also have a first floor event space perfect for conferences and meetings during the day.

“The Mill Outside – the outside catering service of The Mill – can also cater for external events, with hot food, buffets, Afternoon Tea and more. As well as corporate events, we also cater for celebrations such as birthdays and anniversaries – bringing a taste of The Mill out into the Lancashire community.”
