Sisters held vintage garden party in memory of their parents
Sisters Jill and Michelle held a garden party with vintage afternoon tea on Saturday May 7th, in memory of their parents, Doreen and Ronnie Singleton.
Ronnie was cared for in the hospice in 2010, following his diagnosis of a brain tumour.
This year marks Doreen’s 10th anniversary, and to celebrate Jill and Michelle hosted a garden party with vintage afternoon tea. The party included different stalls, such as; cake, costume jewellery and bric-a-brac.
Jill Lawson said: “The weekend before the garden party it was snowing, but on the following Saturday the weather was beautiful, we were amazed by the turnout.
“The care my father received was brilliant, since then we wanted to give something back to the hospice.”
Beryl Cottingham, who was Doreen’s best friend, cut the yellow ribbon to open the event.
The garden party raised £1,300 in total, with proceeds raised split, between Rosemere Cancer Foundation and St Catherine’s – the hospice received £650.
