St Catherine's Hospice > Sky’s the limit for Natasha as she takes on daring charity dive!

Sky’s the limit for Natasha as she takes on daring charity dive!

A daring member of staff from St Catherine’s will be reaching dizzy new heights when she takes part in a charity skydive in aid of the hospice.
Fundraising and communications assistant Natasha Patel has signed up for the adrenalin-fuelled event, which will see her jump from a plane at more than 10,000ft.
The 21-year-old said taking part in the skydive would fulfil a long-held ambition, whilst also raising cash for a cause very close to her heart.

Natasha, who lives in Preston, said: “Completing a skydive is something that has always been on my ‘bucket list’ of things to do in life, and it feels all the better to be doing it to raise money for St Catherine’s Hospice.
“Every day when I come into work I see the amazing effort that staff and volunteers put into providing such specialised and personalised care for patients, and I wanted to do something to raise money to support this work.”
St Catherine’s Hospice has been thrilled with the popularity of their skydive events, which are run from the Black Knights Parachute Centre in Lancaster. All places for the event on Saturday April 27 have now been filled, but another one is being organised for September.
Natasha added: “I think the skydive is a really fun, challenging event which inspires people to put their hands in their pockets, whilst offering the chance to fulfil a life-long dream or ambition.
“We’re delighted the event has been so popular.”
She said she wasn’t feeling nervous in the run-up to the jump – although is sure there will be a few butterflies in her tummy on the day.
“When I first told my mum what I was doing she panicked a bit!” Natasha admitted.
“But she knows it’s all for a really great cause. She and the rest of my family will be coming along to support me on the day, and although I’m sure I’ll be feeling nervous when it comes to it, I know it’s going to be a lot of fun too.”
