Snooker evening raises an amazing £1,800
A snooker evening attended by almost 150 people with special guest – professional player Shaun Murphy – has raised an amazing £1,800 for St Catherine’s Hospice.
Member of Lostock Hall’s Elite Snooker Club Ellis Green visited St Catherine’s to present a donation from the fundraiser.
Ellis nominated St Catherine’s to benefit from the charity snooker evening, as his wife was cared for by the hospice 16 years ago. Money was raised through a raffle and auction, and further funds were donated to the Meningitis Now charity.
Ellis said: “It was a fantastic atmosphere on the night and everyone had a great time, and dug deep for these two worthy causes. There were some brilliant raffle and auction prizes, and on behalf of the club I’m pleased to make this donation to the hospice, which means so much to so many people.”
