Sponsored walk in aid of hospice
The Chorley and Blackburn branch of a charitable order which dates back to 1822 completed a 10-mile sponsored walk in aid of St Catherine’s Hospice.
Lord Balcarres Lodge 365, of The Royal Antediluvian Order of the Buffaloes, based in Chorley, completed the challenge after choosing the hospice as their charity of the year.
The Buffs, as they are known, walked from Adlington to the hospice in fancy dress and armed with balloons, where posed for photographs.
The event is just one of many organised by the group raising much needed funds for the hospice.
Norman Cutler, Senior Fundraiser at St Catherine’s, said: “We are extremely grateful for the support of The Buffs both through this event and many others.
“The proceeds will help us deliver our specialised care to make life more comfortable for those facing serious illness in our community.”
