St Catherine’s Hospice appeals for new recruits to join its Board of Trustees
St Catherine’s Hospice is currently recruiting new members to serve on the charity’s Board of Trustees.
The vacancies have arisen through career change, retirement and bereavement – and the Hospice is on the hunt for suitable candidates to fill the places available.
The successful applicants will play a key role in steering St Catherine’s Hospice through the future – ensuring the charity survives and thrives for the benefit of the local people it serves.
By appointing talented Board members who are equipped with relevant skills, expertise and experiences – plus bags of enthusiasm, commitment and vision – we are best placed to keep pace with developments in hospice care and other external changes which inevitably impact on the charity, such as the economic climate.
In return for their unique talents and time, St Catherine’s promises a thoroughly rewarding role at the heart of one of the region’s best-loved charities, helping to ensure those affected by life-limiting illnesses have access to the right treatment and support, personalised to them and their individual circumstances, at the time it really matters most.
Stephen Greenhalgh, chief executive of St Catherine’s Hospice, said: “Like any well run organisation, one of the keys to continuing success at St Catherine’s is good governance and leadership.
“Over the course of more than 30 years – since the idea for the Hospice was formed in 1981 – the Board has been extremely effective, as the history, heritage and reputation of the Hospice today shows.
“We are now determined to build on this success as we look ahead to the future and the many challenges and opportunities we face.
“We are looking forward to hearing from people who believe they may be able to help us as we work to serve the local community effectively, intelligently and considerately both now and in the future.”

Experience is sought in a specified field that meets the needs of the Board at the time of recruitment. As such, we hope applicants will appreciate that although they might have an excellent and relevant CV, a balanced composition is needed on the Board and not duplicate talent.
The deadline for submissions of interest is Tuesday October 1st 2013.
