St Catherine’s Park wins ‘In Bloom’ award

St Catherine’s Park has won first place in the business category of this year’s Farington and Lostock Hall in Bloom competition.

Judges Coun Karen Walton and Coun Jacqui Mort chose the hospice grounds because they offer a ‘beautiful and tranquil setting’ for the local community as well as patients and families of St Catherine’s.

They also commended the efforts and enthusiasm of the band of dedicated volunteers who help look after the grounds, along with the hospice’s groundsman and maintenance team.

A special shield and certificate were presented during a visit to St Catherine’s Park this week.
