Thousands attend Christmas Festival in St Catherine’s Park
Families flocked to St Catherine’s Park for the hospice’s wonderful Christmas Festival weekend on Saturday and Sunday.
The charity’s grounds in Lostock Hall were filled with thousands of visitors enjoying the festive activities and attractions on offer, including lots of gift stalls; Santa’s Grotto; a craft fair and art exhibition; delicious food and drink from The Mill Outside such as bratwurst sausages and mulled wine; entertainment from a host of choirs, singers, and bands; family-friendly games; fairground rides; donkey rides; birds of prey, and more!
Lorraine Charlesworth, director of community and income at St Catherine’s, said: “The weather was simply perfect for our Christmas Festival weekend and we were delighted with the amazing turnout. The grounds were decorated with wreaths and giant baubles and looked stunning as the frost added some extra sparkle and magic to the occasion.
“It was the perfect opportunity to tuck into some warming food and drink, make a start on Christmas shopping, and have fun with family and friends, all in support of St Catherine’s Hospice.
“Our Christmas Festival weekend is growing each year and we’ve received some fantastic feedback. We’re thrilled that everybody enjoyed the weekend, and would like to thank our community for their wonderful support of this event and all of our fundraising activities throughout 2019. We wish our supporters, patients and families a peaceful Christmas and New Year.”
