TSB staff choose St Catherine’s Hospice as their charity of the year
Staff at Bamber Bridge’s TSB branch have started a range of fundraising activities in support of the hospice.
St Catherine’s has been chosen as TSB’s charity of the year after employees nominated which local cause they wanted to support, by volunteering their time and fundraising.
Bank Manager, Joanne Croasdale, said: “We started fundraising for the hospice in summer, when we held a tombola and I ran a Metric Marathon and received sponsorship from our customers.
“The tombola in the branch was a great way to start the fundraising off for the hospice, everyone got really involved.”
Staff have more fundraising planned for the next year. A Christmas cake has been baked by the branch’s very own Kate Piras, where a prize is being offered for anyone who can guess the correct weight of the cake.
Joanne is also undertaking a full marathon in Manchester in April 2017, where there will be a prize up for grabs, for anyone who can guess the closest time to the minute she completes the marathon.
St Catherine’s fundraiser, Emma Jacovelli, said: “We’re really grateful of TSB’s fundraising efforts for the hospice, so far they have donated £671.66.
“The support means we are able to continue providing much-needed care for local people when it matters most.”
