Utiligroup spread festive cheer whilst raising funds
Staff from Utiligroup got in the Christmas spirit by sporting fabulous festive knits to raise funds for St Catherine’s Hospice.
The team from the Chorley-based business organised their own Christmas Jumper Day on December 1st when employees wore their favourite seasonal sweater and made a donation to support the hospice’s work.
Put together with a generous donation from company bosses, they raised an amazing £2,000 in total.
Their festive fundraising follows the £2,680 raised by a team of workmates who took on the Tough Mudder challenge back in September.
Danielle Buchan, Utiligroup’s HR Director, said: “The Christmas Jumper Day was great fun and really kick-started the festivities at Utiligroup, putting everyone in the Christmas spirit.
“St Catherine’s is a cause very close to our hearts so we’re delighted to be able to donate further funds to support their important work.”
Emma Jacovelli, Head of Community Engagement at St Catherine’s, said: “It was wonderful to have Utiligroup taking part in Christmas Jumper Day for the hospice – they all looked fantastic and we’re delighted to hear they all enjoyed the day so much!
“Their ongoing support of the charity is so appreciated. The funds raised will make a real difference to our work as we care for local people facing conditions like cancer, motor neurone disease and heart failure at this special time of year – helping them to have a comfortable, peaceful Christmas together with their loved ones.”
National Christmas Jumper Day takes place on Friday December 15th with St Catherine’s encouraging workplaces, schools and nurseries to get involved either on that day or another date which suits them.
