Utiligroup staff get tough for St Catherine’s!
A team of more than 30 workmates from Preston-based Utiligroup have completed Tough Mudder – involving hours of gruelling training – in aid of St Catherine’s Hospice.
The group ploughed through extremely wet and muddy conditions, and despite plenty of bumps, bruises, aches and pains, they all worked hard as a team and motivated each other to succeed, raising an incredible £2,680 for the hospice.
Utiligroup’s HR Director, Danielle Buchan, said: “St Catherine’s is very close to our hearts and the staff there do their best to help people in our local community affected by serious illness.
“Each year we are touched by the hospice’s commitment to care for people facing life-shortening illnesses. We hope that the funds raised make a genuine difference and allow this wonderful organisation to continue to carry out the exceptional work it does.”
Staff have also organised a charity bake-off to raise extra cash for the Lostock Hall charity.
Emma Jacovelli, head of fundraising at St Catherine’s, said: “We’re really impressed by the extreme lengths so many members of Utiligroup’s staff have gone to for St Catherine’s.
“They did an amazing job completing the Tough Mudder challenge, and we’re so grateful for their support which enables us to continue providing specialist palliative and end of life care, at the hospice and in people’s own homes across Central Lancashire.”
