St Catherine's Hospice > Visage Hosts Glamorous Occasion For Charity

Visage Hosts Glamorous Occasion For Charity

DSC_1644A local beauty salon rolled out the red carpet to raise vital funds for St Catherine’s Hospice with a fashion show.

Visage Hair and Beauty salon on Friargate hosted a ‘red carpet event’, where visitors to the salon were treated to Champagne, delicious treats and a glimpse of the latest fashion trends courtesy of Ayda Boutique.

Kath Stead, manager of St Catherine’s Lune Street shop was also in attendance selling all sorts of wonderful items for the hospice whilst Des Grant was on the mic as DJ and compere.

The glamorous evening raised a whopping £1,051 for the hospice, a cause owner Veronica Gabett who spearheaded the event feels strongly about.

“We feel it’s really important for us as a business to do our bit for charity, and St Catherine’s is a local charity that has touched the hearts of a lot of us over the years,” she said.

“The hospice is really personal to me and to a lot of our staff so we wanted to do something to help. We couldn’t have done it without the aid of local businesses especially Ayda Boutique, and we’d also like to say a big thank you to Des Grant for giving up his time to DJ the event.

“The night itself was a huge success – we had well over 100 people turn up and we probably could have done with a bigger venue it was that popular.

“When we first decided we were going to host the event in September, we thought we had plenty of time, but it came around in a flash! Thankfully though it all came together in the end; it was a really great atmosphere, and we can’t wait to plan the next event for St Catherine’s.”

Emma Jacovelli, fundraiser at St Catherine’s Hospice who accepted the donation on the charity’s behalf added: “We are delighted that Visage has not only raised a brilliant amount for a cause close to their heart, but they’ve also had lots of fun in the process.

“A big thank you to every single person who helped organised the event; it’s because of the generosity of our local community, we can continue to provide specialised care to those facing life shortening illnesses.
