Volunteers got stuck in to support St Catherine’s

Staff from a North West banking division swapped the office for the outdoors when they volunteered their valuable time to help out at St Catherine’s Hospice.

The team of eight from Lloyds Banking Group’s Surveying and Valuation Services department gave up their day to assist with a range of different jobs.

These included sorting items dropped off at the hospice’s on-site Donation Centre ready for distribution to the charity shops, clearing a wooded area within the hospice grounds and moving and restacking firewood.

Valuation surveyor John Szpunar said the team had enjoyed the day and were happy to show their support.

“It was great to do something useful for the day to help an important local charity,” he said.

“The weather did its best but it did not spoil it and we were pleased to have helped make a difference. There is now talk of arranging a follow-up visit.”
