St Catherine's Hospice > Win a new set of wheels while celebrating 30 years of St Catherine’s!

Win a new set of wheels while celebrating 30 years of St Catherine’s!

Supporters could celebrate the 30th birthday of St Catherine’s Hospice with a present of their own if their ticket is drawn in the charity’s 30th anniversary car raffle!

MINI Car raffleA brand new MINI Cooper is the fantastic prize in this year’s draw, which celebrates 30 years of St Catherine’s providing specialist care and support in the local community.

Tickets are just £2 with the proceeds used to help fund the hospice’s work caring for people in Central Lancashire affected by life-shortening conditions such as cancer, motor neurone disease and heart failure.

Tickets in the raffle – which has been kindly sponsored by Bowker, Ian Wilde Funeral Directors and Redscar Kitchens – are on sale now via the hospice or www.stcatherines.co.uk, at hospice charity shops and at Bowker MINI at Preston Docks.

The winning ticket will be drawn on the second night of Symphony at the Tower on Saturday July 4, when male classical group Blake and Britain’s Got Talent runner-up Lucy Kay will perform with the Heart of England Philharmonic Orchestra. The night before, on Friday July 3, legendary rockers Status Quo will take to the stage.

Sheila Kennard, Head of Promotions at St Catherine’s Hospice, said: “Following the success of the car raffle last year which brought in a bumper amount for the hospice in tickets sales, we’re delighted to once again have a brilliant MINI Cooper up for grabs.

“This year we’re running an anniversary campaign called Give A Gift – which highlights 30 different ways people can show their support during our very special year. The car raffle is our chance to give someone a very special present of their own – even if we do ask them to spend £2 on a ticket!

“Most importantly the raffle raises vital funds which, after 30 years, St Catherine’s needs more than ever. Good luck!”

Graham McMurray from Bowker MINI, said: “We’re delighted to be working with St Catherine’s Hospice again this year. We know all about the incredible work they do. And we are sure that the people of Lancashire will support this great competition. It’s a beautiful car, and someone is going to be very happy when their name is pulled out of the hat.”

Sharon Shahsvar and Les Holderness, who own Redscar Kitchens in Preston, said they were delighted to be sponsoring the raffle.

Sharon said: “We know how important the care of St Catherine’s is to local people and are proud to be joining in their special year of celebrations through our involvement with the MINI car raffle. It’s a fantastic prize which supports a fantastic charity so it’s a win-win situation!”

Wendy Wilde, from Ian Wilde Independent Funeral Directors, said: “We are very happy to be giving something back and showing our support for a local charity which does such wonderful work in the community. As St Catherine’s celebrates 30 years of caring for local people, we hope people will get behind them and show their support – and who knows, it might be your ticket which is drawn! ”

The car will be touring the area over the coming weeks and at all the hospice’s spring and summer events – including the plant sale at the hospice on May 3, Big Charity Bike Ride on May 17, Moonlight and Memories Walk on June 6 and Yellow Day garden fete at the hospice on June 21

Tickets for the raffle are available from the hospice in Lostock Lane, Lostock Hall, Preston, PR5 5XU; at the charity’s shops across the boroughs; online at www.stcatherines.co.uk; at Bowker MINI on Preston Docks; and at various community locations around the area.
