Yorkshire Building Society shows its support for St Catherine’s Hospice
Two brave building society workers reached dizzy heights in their quest to raise cash for St Catherine’s Hospice!
Steven Robinson, branch manager of the Preston branch, took part in the hospice’s 120ft abseil down the side of the Preston Holiday Inn with colleague Robbie Marshall.
They raised £212 in sponsorship from the challenge, which was put together with a further £100 donation from the Yorkshire Building Society, pledged as as part of their Make a Difference scheme.
The campaign asks customers to nominate a favourite charity to receive a donation from the firm, and St Catherine’s Hospice was one of five chosen by the company to receive the £100.
Steven said: “A lot of our customers have been touched by the amazing work of St Catherine’s – it’s a charity which is close to their hearts so we wanted to do something to show our support.
“The abseil was pretty scary but we both feel really good that we did it!”
