Youngster spreads festive spirit for charity
A school girl created festive magic whilst raising vital funds for St Catherine’s Hospice.
Eight-year-old Madison Davies made 147 bags of reindeer food from oats and glitter and sold them at St Oswald’s Primary School, raising £160 for her local charity.
By sprinkling the bags outside of porches on Christmas Eve, reindeers on their busy night can earn a well-earned break with the magic food also glistening in the dark.
Mum, Joanne Davies said: “I’m a district nurse in Preston so a few of my patients are here or have been here so we know the good work that goes on and how important it is to people, so Madison really wanted to help. She has a heart of gold and is planning to do even more for charity.”
Senior fundraiser, Norman Cutler added: “What a lovely way to spread the Christmas spirit to people’s homes whilst also raising vital funds for the hospice.
“Thanks to the work of people like Madison, we can continue to help provide specialised care for our patients and their families at Christmas.”
