South Ribble social support groups

Social groups can help you connect with others who may be experiencing similar experiences of grief or loneliness. Group support can help you feel less alone and can improve mental health. The groups listed aren’t specifically bereavement support but are social opportunities where you’ll receive a friendly welcome and can meet other people.

  • Talkin’ Tables
    Meet with local people for friendly conversations in a warm and welcoming environment.

  • Regenerage Activity Centre
    Regenerage (formerly Age Concern Central Lancashire) helps thousands of people each year to live well and age well by providing a huge range of positive activities such as Zumba, pilates, tai chi and line dancing, to social opportunities such as Knit and Natter, Gardening Gang, and coffee mornings at a range of venues.

  • Leyland (Lancashire FA) Sporting Memories Club
    Sporting Memories supports a wide range of people aged 50-plus, including those living with dementia, living with depression or facing isolation and loneliness to improve their mental and physical wellbeing through our regular club sessions. Every Monday, 11:00am-12:30pm.

    A wide range of groups, events and activities such as Adult Yoga, Community Cafe, Poetry Group,  Memories and Melodies, Family History Group, Knit and Natter, Games Club, Craft and Chat, Reading Friends, Let’s Play Real Games, Lego Club, Short Story Reading Club, Chaps who Chat, Lostock Litwits, Creative Writing, Canasta Club, Talkin Tables and more. Just one example is Lostock Hall Community Cafe, in Lostock Hall Library every Wednesday, 2pm-4pm. All are welcome for a brew, chat or play board games.
