Bereavement for businesses - St Catherine's Hospice

Bereavement for businesses

Around 1 in 10 employees experience a significant bereavement each year, and how workplaces respond really matters. Poor support can increase stress, absenteeism, and staff turnover, while compassionate, confident management helps people stay well, engaged, and at work.

Bereavement for Businesses is a practical, half‑day training package from St Catherine’s Hospice, designed to build confidence and skills in supporting bereaved employees and colleagues. It offers a compassionate, structured approach to managing grief at work, with tools you can use immediately.

Why organisations choose this training

  • Builds confidence in having difficult conversations
  • Supports wellbeing, retention, and productivity
  • Demonstrates compassionate leadership and CSR
  • Practical, relevant, and immediately applicable
  • Strengthens your organisation’s link with St Catherine’s Hospice

What to expect

  • 5‑hour interactive session (up to 15 participants)
  • Delivered at your workplace, at the Hospice, or online
  • Certificates of attendance for all delegates
  • Flexible delivery, tailored to your organisation
