Approaching End of Life with Parkinson’s Disease

Our specialist Knowledge Exchange Team delivers high quality education through interactive training sessions. Our study sessions and courses are continually reviewed and updated, with new subjects added regularly to provide the most up-to-date guidance and expert advice, and to facilitate topical and diverse discussions amongst health care professionals.

This study session is designed for healthcare professionals who care for patients with Parkinson’s disease nearing the end of life and would like to improve their knowledge and confidence.

In this session we will:

  • Provide an overview of what Parkinson’s disease is
  • Look at the complexities of the condition and the impact on a patient’s quality of life
  • Explore the potential signs and symptoms at the end of life
  • Gain a better understanding of how to manage these common symptoms at end of life
  • Explore co-morbidities that may affect care
  • Discuss the importance of Advance Care Planning

Throughout there will be opportunities for interactive discussion around shared experiences as health care professionals.

This session will be delivered online by St Catherine’s Hospice. You would need to have access to a computer or mobile device with internet connection, a webcam and a microphone. Please note attendees must log into the event via the invite received from St Catherine’s Hospice 15 minutes before the start.
