Groups and Societies

We love working with groups, clubs and societies across the area who generously help us with fundraising in many different ways.

We are passionate about working with them to raise awareness of the reality of hospices like St Catherine’s and the importance of the services we provide. We don’t want anyone to be anxious about the hospice, and work hard to promote understanding of what St Catherine’s is – and also what it isn’t.

There’s several ways your group, club or society could get involved – see below and contact Norman Cutler, norman.cutler@stcatherines.co.uk or call 01772 629171 to find out more. We look forward to hearing from you!

Talks

We love visiting groups, clubs and societies to talk to members in person about St Catherine’s and the work the hospice does for local people. There’s plenty of opportunity to ask questions and we hope members will find it informative, inspiring and reassuring.

Contact us if you’d like us to come and share our presentation with you.

Charity of the Year

After hearing more about us, we’d be delighted if you might consider choosing St Catherine’s Hospice as your group’s Charity of the Year, organising events and raising funds for the duration of a dedicated campaign.

It’s a great way focus energies and harness enthusiasm amongst your members, and we’ll be on hand to guide and support your team, offering information, ideas and advice at every step of the way.

Take Part in or Volunteer at an Event

Whether you fancy jumping out of a plane, walking a half marathon by moonlight or manning tombola stall at our garden fete, we’ve got plenty of exciting events for you to take part in or help out at.

Click here to view our forthcoming diary and see what takes your fancy.

Signing up to support St Catherine’s alongside your club is great for teambuilding and boosts morale, fitness and wellbeing. You can share tips and advice about training or fundraising, or perhaps even get a bit competitive and see who can raise the most or run the fastest!

We appreciate that many local clubs and societies are charities themselves and therefore fundraising isn’t appropriate. If you did have some time to support St Catherine’s in a different way through volunteering your time and skills, we would be extremely grateful.

Host an Event or Set Your Team a Challenge

Instead of signing up to one of our events, you could organise one of your own. We’ve got an A-Z of ideas you can access here so see what appeals to you and your team!

You might already have a particular event or challenge in mind to set your members – as long as it’s safe and legal, we don’t mind! Just get in touch and we’ll see how we can help you turn your idea into a successful fundraising campaign, which not only generates important cash for St Catherine’s, but is fun and fulfilling for you too.
