Story
My mum, Jean was a beloved mum, sister and auntie, and a true friend to many. She was the kind of person who lit up a room – always ready for a chat, a laugh, and a cup of tea.
She shared 41 wonderful years of marriage with my dad, Peter, before his passing in 2012. Their love was strong, and their time together left a lasting legacy of warmth and kindness. Although they are no longer around in the physical sense, to continue making them proud of me is one of the greatest motivations in my life.
In later years, mum made her home in sheltered accommodation, where she was a cherished part of the community. She made many friends and was always keen to take part in events and social gatherings. Whether it was a lively game of bingo, a shopping trip, or a traditional afternoon tea, she embraced life with joy and sparkle.
She was popular, kind-hearted, and full of spirit – someone who always had time for others, and who made everyone feel welcome.
I know that mum is deeply missed by not just me, but all who knew and loved her. Her warmth, laughter, and love live on in our hearts.
Towards the end of her life, my mum spent a short time in St Catherine’s Hospice. She was looked after so well by all the team there, as was I during an emotional time. They are such dedicated, wonderful people, and I would be very grateful for any donations raised for them through this tribute page.
Thank you.
